Jean Masson's composition shows all the figures but the nude in the foreground engaged in activities or conversation, seemingly ignoring her nudity. The foreground figure, who is larger and highlighted seems to refer back to the style of Paul Gauguin. The fact that she is removed from the genre scene around her suggests that the artist is also reminding us of Édouard Manet's painting, Luncheon on the Grass (1863).

Gouache paints on paper, fine original condition, signed and dated 1961 at lower right.
